SQL 2016 Service Pack 1 Released

SQL 2016 SP1 has been released. I might be a little late to this announcement but thought I would at least give the download link and some highlights on things that are fixed in it.

Some of the highlights are:

  • New CREATE OR ALTER that allows functions, triggers, procedures or views to be created without having to test for existence first.

  • New error log message that indicates if tempdb data files are not all the same size

  • New lightweight query profiling via trace flag 7412
